Brought into existence by the American National Standards Institute 40 years ago, X12’s overarching mission is to build, refine and drive forward the X12 EDI standards used to power B2B data exchange processes all around the world. Klein­schmidt’s decades of experience as a preeminent EDI value added network and integrator are crucial to further developing new and refining the established standards used to drive business data exchange. About X12

X12, chartered by the American National Standards Institute for more than 35 years, develops and maintains EDI standards and XML schemas which drive business processes globally. X12’s diverse membership includes tech­nol­o­gists and business process experts in health care, insurance, trans­porta­tion, finance, government, supply chain and other industries.

X12 members meet to regularly to develop and maintain EDI standards that streamline and facilitate consistent electronic interchange of business trans­ac­tions, such as order placement and processing, shipping and receiving information, invoicing, payment and cash application data. With more than 320 transaction standards available for use, X12 standards can be used to conduct nearly every facet of business-to-business operations.

X12 is led by diverse leadership groups, including a Board of Directors and Steering Committee. The Board is responsible for X12’s orga­ni­za­tional and business affairs. The Steering Committee oversees operational activities related to the development and publication of EDI Standards and related work products.
